After an extensive search for a powerful and flexible knowledge base script which is Open Source, easy to install and use, I finally hit the jackpot....
I didn't want a departmental handbook! How many people actually use a handbook? What users really want is answers to questions, and they don't want to spend time looking through a large printed handbook ! I need a resource that can link to resources directly, and be easily updated by administrators/moderators and registered users. It must have a powerful search facility, so users can find answers quickly. I don't want to type all my documents again, so I must have a facility for cut and paste answers.....

(c) New questions can be added anytime by users.
(d) Administrators can add information/answers to questions anytime.
(e) A database construction allowsdirect links to be provided to other documents, such as policy documents, resources for teaching, and relevant websites.
(f) Easily organised into sections, such as Procedures, KS3, KS4, Health and Safety. Each section can have a number of sub-sections. Users can browse through the sections. Or use a quick search facility. (g) The resource is online, allowing 24/7 access to information and resources.
(h) Users can print the exact information they need, not a whole handbook.
(i) Saves trees: only recycled electrons are used
